Wedding bells! ( part one )

Hello lovlies!

Today I'm back as promised with my project life spreads! I have two to show ( one will be posted later this week ) as both are fairly simple as at the moment where having our home decorated! Who knew painting a few walls could be so messy, tiring and boring!?!

The paper used here is actually from the march April kit.. Oops, however I love using check papers and did feel really guilty for not having used it the month we got it. Matting my pictures, because why break the habit, I have used the Roselle Cardstock.

If look past the horrid selfies I have used the Nuvo drops to embellish and I think I went a little overboard on the whole layout however in this case it still works well. Again using the freckled fawn acrylic frame I snapped this into four small pieces and tooked it behind each photograph on the 3x4 cards. Sticking with freckled fawn I also used the puffy stars stickers.

Now I'm not sure if you can see but behind the lovely label there is a clear scallop piece, well that my fellow crafter is the protective film from the acrylic lawn fawn frames how cool is that, and as its really thin what I've done is just use a staple to secure it into place.

Also to embeliish I have used the wooden pieces followed with the celebrate gold foil stickers from the dancing on the ceiling kit... And everytime I see that kit I can't stop singing ' ooohhh what a feelinggggg, when we're dancing on the ceilingggg!' Haha!.

See you soon for part 2!

Scrapping Lite

I've got two layouts to share today, both made with the Cake Walk Lite Kit
Here's the first
Yes we know how to party.... I love that pink background paper with the ombre tones. I thought the colours of the kit went very well with the Premier Inn decor but just had to add a  few touches (well a lot) of gold. I began by splattering some gold mist over the page. While that was drying I did the usual thing of when in doubt just chop bits from various papers and see what you think. I also chopped the menu card in half so I could put the journalling at the top.

As I said, once I decided on more gold I really added more gold. I painted some gold glimmer mist onto some cardstock and when it was dry, added the three butterfly stickers and cut round them.

I also added glimmer mist to the little house. The gold doily was a die cut that I chopped in half. I used the same gold foil card for the alphabet as the kit ones, though gorgeous were not gold enough!

Finally, inspired by the Nuvo drops I got out my box of liquid pearls and stickles and added some gold, pink and green around the layout.

Here is page 2...
This layout is based on a sketch but very cleverly I can't find the notes I made of where the sketch is from. I felt like doing a bit of mixed media background so added some Raspberry distress ink to some texture paste and threw in a little bit of glitter
while that was drying I painted circles on my paper with a sage colour mist and a silver wink of Stella pen. I also die cut some hearts using various papers - these were edged with Spruce distress ink and I highlighted all of the little "x" shapes with the silver pen (yes it did take a long time!) Oh yes, the lovely wee doves also got the silver pen treatment.

Finally it was time to put it all together adding some of the cardstock labels for fun.
I layered it all up and wrote my journalling. I used the alphabet from the kit but added in some old stickers for half the title as this alphabet doesn't include numbers.

THIS IS US

Hey lovelies I'm back again with another 12x12 layout to show you. (Keep your eyes peeled for my upcoming project life layout).

Today I thought I'd share my latest page starting of with an aerial shot of layout.

Starting off with title I just wanted something more, something simple that I hadnt used before. So looking through all the silly photographs of me and my cousin I just though 'This Is Us' we're always acting about and being silly together so this title just finished off a wonderful week spent with one
another.

The background I have created I wanted to do something different and challenge myself to use more than one paper so here I have used Amy tangerine sure thing, dear Lizzy Saturday paper and rosette. For the background I laid down the sure thing paper and with the off cut I turned it over and placed that on top, with other sheets I cut out half circles and made a scollop border.

Let's talk clusters!. Clusters big or small are a group of embellishments put together randomly or if your more of a precise crafter then you'll probably spend ages finding everything to match and securing them in the 'right' place. I love little wooden embellishment and these leaves match with one of the patterned papers used in the background. On my last layout you saw me cut the carpe diem Expoxy metal pins up and use it as a flair, well today I've done the same thing with this little bird and I've just tooked it onto the photograph above. The today banner sticker was used from the Mambi Planner  sheet and finishing both clusters of I used the amazing midnight blue Nuvo drops.

The final finishes were the Nuvo drops to the corners to just give it more oomph and the fact that I have fallen in love with these may have something to do with it ;), and also I have edged the page in a black biro.

Duck-Duck

Hello everyone, it's me again!
As I mentioned in a previous post about a month ago now, we got a puppy and you may be seeing lots of future layouts featuring her. Yep, here she is with her favourite toy (which is actually a pigeon) Duck-Duck.

Here's the items I used to create this layout:

From the main kit:

  • Amy Tangerine Oh Happy Life 11am Patterned Paper
  • Nuvo Crystal Drops - Midnight Blue
From the Lite Kit:
  • Freckled Fawn Grey Puffy Alphas
From the Embellishment kit:
  • Black & White striped buttons
  • Carpe Diem Reset Girl pack of 3 Washi Tape
  • Freckled Fawn 32 Puffy Star Stickers
  • MAMBI Sticks - My Life stickers
  • My Minds Eye Yes Please Stickers
From the Extra's Store:
  • Nuvo Crystal Drops Sweet Lilac
Here's how I created my layout with the above products:

I started by cutting the Amy Tangerine paper in half diagonally and adhering it to the bottom left hand corner of my 12x12 sheet of white cardstock. Then came the most time consuming part of the layout the Nuvo dots. (I actually started this layout before bed one night so I could allow the Nuvo drops to dry properly overnight) I followed the cut of the patterned paper and alternated between the midnight blue and the sweet lilac drops and I love the effect.
When I woke up in the morning and went to finish my layout they were perfectly dry, no adhesive needed! I then trimmed my photo's and used a thin piece of double-sided tape to attach them together before sticking them in the centre of my page, making sure they were halfway on the white cardstock and halfway on the patterned paper. Then...came the embellishing.
I started with the title using the Freckled Fawn grey puffy alpha's from the lite kit (I need these alphas in every colour possible!) To make the hyphen - I cut one of the Q's up as I never use the q's and it worked great!  I then laid down several strips of the Carpe Diem Reset Girl washi tape under the photo's and used a few of the MAMBI my life stickers, one on the washi tape, one at the side of the bottom photo and one on the photo itself, pointing to Enya's duck.

I used some of the gold arrows from the My Minds Eye Yes Please sticker sheet which I placed on the photo's and also the large heart sticker on the right hand side. The smaller gold heart sticker I placed on one of the black and white striped buttons and this made it look like a flair badge..love it!
I finished my layout by using a few of the Freckled Fawn puffy star stickers and Hey Presto!

After doing a more complicated layout with my previous post, the mixed media one, I wanted to keep this one a little more simple. I contemplated doing some journalling to explain this is Enya's favourite toy, but I didn't know where to put it and didn't want to risk messing up my layout so I decided against it. The layout is pretty self-explanatory anyway.

I hope you like my layout, I will be back soon with a Project Life style layout.
Until next time...Happy Scrapping Everyone x
