You're #1 - Natalie

Hello everyone,

I'm here today with another layout using the Nov/Dec kit, focusing on the Crate Paper Good Vibes collection!

Products used:

Main Kit:
- Crate Paper Good Vibes - All Good 12x12 Paper
- Crate Paper Good Vibes - Flourish 12x12 Paper
- Crate Paper Good Vibes - Passion 12x12 Paper
- Crate Paper Good Vibes 6x12 Sticker Sheets

Lite Kit:
- Crate Paper Good Vibes - Hashtag 12x12 Paper

Embellishment Kit:
- Crate Paper Good Vibes - Puffy Thicker Phrases

Custom Cards Kit:
- Crate Paper Good Vibes Ephemera Pack

My Stash:
- Kraft cardstock

For this layout I started with the background paper which is so cool, and I decided I want to use just a single photo in the centre of the page, so all the lines draw your eye to the photo.

I matted my photo with kraft cardstock (you could use the reverse of the "All Good"paper which is a kraft design, but I'm saving it), and then the blue B side of the "Passion" paper.

From the ephemera pack I used the notebook paper element, and the "good vibes only" piece to add to the side of my photo. I will be adding journalling to the notebook paper at some point.

Next I knew I wanted to use birds and flowers from the "All Good" and "Flourish" papers to create 3 clusters around my photo. I had already fussy cut out the entire papers whilst watching Netflix one day, so I could just grab the flowers and make this layout really quickly!

For the bottom right cluster I used one of the gorgeous birds and a few flowers, using foam tape to add dimension. 3 of the small pink flowers across the page were from the 6x12 sticker sheet, instead of being fussy cut.

For the bottom left cluster I added more flowers, plus the beautiful black leaf which took quite some time to fussy cut but was definitely worth it! Again foam tape was used to lift certain parts up.

And I added a very small cluster again of fussy cut and sticker flowers at the top left. Making sure I have something black, blue and pink in each cluster.

Finally I added my title, I am so in love with these puffy phrase stickers I don't want the pack to end!! And I added the small 24/7 tabs to the left and the right of the photos. These were from a piece in the ephemera pack which was far too large for my layout, so I cut it into 3, and used 2 parts here, and I have another piece to use on another page. Top tip remember you can always cut up your ephemera pieces to make them work for your layout!

And that's it, super simple once I had fussy cut all the flowers!

Happy New Year - Natalie

Hello everyone,
I'm back today with a Project Life style layout that co-ordinates with my last layout.
Which you can see here Love Out Loud Layout.
And so I used a lot of the same products, focusing on the Simple Stories 2018 collection.
I love to make an accompanying PL style layout, when I have a few extra photos I want to include to tell the story, but they don't warrant an entire layout.

Products used:

Main Kit:
- Simple Stories 2018 Journal Card Elements Paper
- Simple Stories 2018 Cheers Paper
- American Crafts Sweater Weather Cozy Paper

Embellishment Kit:
- Crate Paper Good Vibes Puffy Phrases
- Freckled Fawn Black Puffy Heart Stickers

Own Stash:
- Gold sequins
- Simple Stories 2018 6x12 sticker sheet

I used a Becky Higgins Design A style page protector, so I printed off two 4x6 photos, a 3x4 photo and 2 small photos printed using my HP sprocket. (Photos show cards not in the page protector).

I used cut aparts from the cut-apart sheet, as well as two of the Simple Stories patterned papers to back all my pockets.

For the top left pocket I printed off journalling in strips, and added the "Happy New Year" sticker from my stash, although there is a similar title that you could fussy cut from the cut apart sheet in the kit.To echo my 12x12 layout I added puffy star stickers and gold sequins.

For these two pockets I have a cut-apart embellished with a puffy heart sticker and more sequins, and a photo that is not embellished.

For these two pockets I have a mini 2x2 photo along with more fussy cut journalling boxes, as used on my 12x12 layout - helping to co-ordinate the two layouts.

And the final 3x4 card is again a cut-apart embellished with a puffy star and sequins.
In the bottom left pocket I have a photo which I added two more journalling spots to.

And finally in the last pocket I have a small 2x3 photo printed using my Sprocket. The patterned paper was cut to emphasize certain words such as "Ball Drop" as we were watching the New York NYE Ball Drop. I added a few stickers from my stash, and more hearts and sequins!

This is quite a dark layout due to the fact the photos were taken at midnight, however I feel the two cream 3x4 cut-aparts really help to lighten the page.
This layout is a really super simple one, and took me less than an hour, and allowed me to document multiple photos, and finish off the story!
I hope it inspires you to create a PL inspired layout with your kit.

Our Bonnie Lass

Hello everyone!
I am back with my second layout using the November/December regular quirky kit. This one is featuring our puppy, Bonnie. I wanted to do a little montage of her puppy photos as they grow up so quickly and we often forget how adorable they were as babies. I used lots of the CratePaper Good Vibes collection. But check below for a full listing of the items I used and how I created this layout.

What I Used:

Crate Paper Good Vibes - All Good 12x12 Patterned Paper (Both Sides)
Crate Paper Good Vibes - Flourish 12x12 Patterned Paper
Crate Paper Good Vibes - Sticker Sheet
Crate Paper Good Vibes - Ephemera Pack
Pink Fresh Studio Escape the Ordinary - Leatherette Alphas
White Pom Pom Trim

From my own Stash:
Vellum
Tonic Studios Nuvo Glitter Drops - Golden Sunset

How I created my layout:

I started off by layering my 2x2 inch photographs onto vellum and arranging where on the page I wanted them. I had only a 4x12 inch strip of the pink Flourish patterned paper left so I cut it into 2 12x2 inch strips and popped it at the bottom of the page, leaving a gap in the middle where I wanted my title to go.
I added some red liner tape along the bottom of my page and popped on some of the lovely white pom pom trim, which works really nice because of the white polka dots on the background paper.
I used some more of the vellum, and put the leatherette pink fresh studio alphas on so my title stood out from the background paper more.
It was then time to start embellishing...my favourite part yaaaay!
I fussy cut one of the birds and some of the flowers from the All Good patterned paper. I formed a small cluster on the left side of the title and used one of the gold stars from the Good Vibes sticker sheet, as pictured above.
On the right hand side I used some more of the fussy cut flowers, alongside the cork star and love out loud pieces from the ephemera pack, using my nuvo drops from my stash on the star. The little bird was also from the sticker sheet.
The last cluster was formed to the right of the photographs. I layered up some of the larger pieces of ephemera, another cork star and a bird cut from the All Good patterned paper. I love the paint strip so much!
And that is my layout finished. Here is the overall page.
As you can see my clusters form a triangular formation and I have one star in each cluster, as well as flowers in each cluster. This is one of my favourite layouts I've made so far this year. It's so bright and cheerful, and I feel it doesn't need any journalling as sometimes the pictures tell the story.

Join me next time when I will have a blog post about using non christmassy papers to document december in my travellers notebook!
Until then, Happy Scrapping! xxx

Love Out Loud - Natalie

Hello everyone!!

I'm back with my first layout using the Nov/ Dec kit!

My first layout is a New Year's Eve themed layout, which is actually from 2014/5 not this year, when I went to New York City for New Year's!

Products used:

Main Kit:
- Simple Stories 2018 Cheers Paper
- Crate Paper Good Vibes 6x12 stickers
- American Crafts Sweater Weather Cozy Paper

Lite Kit:
- Photo Play Vintage Girl Razzle Dazzle Paper

Extras Shop:

- Crate Paper Good Vibes Puffy Phrases

Own Stash:
- Gold Heidi Swapp Colour Shine
- Gold sequins
- Black enamel dots

When starting this layout I knew I wanted to use the NYE wordy paper from Simple Stories, but it was just too busy to use as a background. Then I found this sketch by Laura Rumble for Speigelmom Scraps, which was just perfect for a NYE layout!

I don't have a cutting machine, so in order to cut out the star I just printed a star from Microsoft Word and used that as a template to cut out my star. Making sure that I included certain words on the paper that I wanted to be included on my star.

I swapped the sketch around so my star was in the right hand corner.
Before sticking my star down I used gold Heidi Swapp colour shine spray to create gold splatters across my page. As some of the splatters were rather large I had to let this dry overnight.

I stuck my star down using foam pads, and added my photo. My photo is just 2x3 inches in size, and was printed using my HP Sprocket portable printer that I got for Christmas!

I then decided that the background was too plain, I don't often like using white cardstock as my background, so I cut 1 inch strips of the black striped paper from the Lite Kit (Photo Play, Vintage Girl, Razzle Dazzle), and used these at the top and bottom to help contain the layout. I used my distressing tool to roughen the edges to add further interest.

I added small labels for journalling in the top left and bottom right, and these were fussy cut from Sweater Weather Cozy paper from the Main Kit.
I added some more gold splatters at the top left to draw your eye upwards.

Finally I added my title "Love Out Loud" and added puffy star stickers which came from the same puffy phrases sticker set (Crate Paper, Good Vibes, Puffy Phrases). I also added gold star stickers (Crate Paper, Good Vibes 6x12 sticker set) and finally some gold sequins and black enamel dots from my stash.

I really like this layout and hope it inspires you to scrap your NYE photos!!
